IDAK have been supporting Wasare school to deliver a lunchtime meal programme for all the students. As a result, all of the students can now remain at school and get a good meal in the middle of the day, rather than having to go home, or go without.
One of the side benefits of this meal has been seen with regard to the Junior Secondary School (JSS) students. As a result of being able to stay at school, the JSS are able to get extra time to do their own group work as well as to seek consultations and clarifications from the teachers during lunchtime. As a result, the teachers are all noting an improvement on students class performance as given in feedback to IDAK from the headteacher.
